Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy Earns First Gene and Cell Services Accreditation

Accreditations were granted by the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC) for Gene and Cell Services and Walgreens Central Specialty Pharmacy


DEERFIELD, Ill., AUGUST 15, 2025 – Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy received its first Gene and Cell Services accreditation, ACHC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation from ACHC. In addition to this, Walgreens Central Specialty Pharmacy received its first infusion nursing services (non-Medicare certified), infusion pharmacy services (without sterile compounding) accreditations and the reaccreditation in ACHC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation and Distinctions, oncology, rare diseases and orphan drugs.  

Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy is proud to work with ACHC for these accreditations as they demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing patients with quality care. Obtaining accreditation is key to the success of specialty pharmacies as it is a process through which healthcare organizations demonstrate compliance with national specialty pharmacy accreditation standards.

The ACHC accreditations are effective from September 16, 2025, through September 15, 2028.
